Launched in 2018, the Hot 6 aimed to provide a basic smartphone experience on a tight budget. However, cuts had to be made:

Design and Display

The 6-inch HD+ display had thin bezels but build quality felt cheap. Performance was mixed with plastic parts.

Hardware and Performance

It shipped with Android 8.1 (Oreo) but the 1/2GB RAM variants struggled. Multitasking was challenging. Storage was limited too.

Cameras

The single 13MP rear camera captured average shots. The 8MP front camera was sufficient for video calls.

Software and Battery

4000mAh battery lasted over a day with light use. 10W charging was acceptable for its price.

Connectivity and Limitations

Only 3G connectivity disappointed. Dual SIM support and microSD expansion helped. But the experience lacked polish.

While the Infinix Hot 6 aimed low on price, cuts to hardware showed. 1GB RAM made it unusable for many tasks in 2018. Large displays don’t mean much without decent internals. At this cost, buyers deserved better performance fundamentals.
