Infinix launched the S5 Pro back in March 2020. Even after a few years, let’s do an in-depth analysis of this budget-friendly phone:

Design and Build

The S5 Pro has a plastic build which helps keep costs low. It’s only 9mm thick and weighs 195g, making it comfortable to hold. It comes in Nebula Black, Quetzal Cyan, and Violet colors.

Display

Featuring a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution, multimedia consumption is decent. The 1080×2340 pixel resolution provides sharp imagery.

Hardware, Performance, and Storage

At its heart is the Mediatek Helio P35 chipset which was a competent mid-range processor back in 2020. It’s paired with 4GB/6GB RAM which ensures smooth navigation. Storage options include 64GB and 128GB with microSD support up to 256 GB.

Camera

The main highlight is the 48MP rear camera which clicks detailed shots. An additional 2MP depth sensor enables bokeh effects. Selfies are handled by a motorized 16MP pop-up front camera. Video recording maxes out at 1080p/30fps.

Software and User Interface

The Infinix S5 Pro shipped with Android 10 out of the box. The lightweight interface is responsive enough for daily use even today. It’s a shame it never received an Android OS upgrade.

Connectivity and Battery Life

All necessary connectivity options are covered including dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS. The 4000mAh battery ensures over a day of moderate usage on a single charge.

Verdict

Even though many newer models have launched since, the Infinix S5 Pro remains competitive due to its reliable performance, good battery life, and reasonable price point. At used prices in 2023, it’s a sensible budget option.
