Infinix is expected to launch the successor to the popular Smart 8 – here’s what to expect from the upcoming Smart 9:
Design and Display
The Smart 9 will likely retain the 6.6-inch HD+ IPS display with minimal bezels. An upgrade to 90Hz or higher refresh rate can be seen.
Hardware and Performance
A step-up Helio G37/G57/T618 chipset is speculated along with 4/6GB RAM for smoother overall performance than the T606 in Smart 8.
Cameras
The rear camera may receive a resolution bump to 16MP or even 20MP. An ultra-wide sensor could be added. The selfie camera may see a 5-8MP upgrade.
Software and Storage
Android 13 out of the box with XOS custom skin. Storage options may go up to 128GB while keeping microSD expansion.
Battery and Charging
Battery capacity could see a small increase to 5000-6000mAh. 18W fast charging support may also be upgraded from Smart 8’s 10W.
Expected Price
Considering upgrades over Smart 8, the Smart 9 may be priced around $150-180 depending on storage/RAM variants to provide better value.
If priced competitively, the Smart 9 has the potential to be an excellent budget-friendly daily driver when it launches in early 2024.
